Research inspires and informs my work. My interest lies in exploring interdisciplinary relationships between art, craft and technology within the larger context of design, branding and architecture. Merging traditional, crafts based knowledge with emerging cultural and technological tendencies is one of my core interests. I have also enjoyed the benefit of diverse assignments: from working with indigenous communities in India to working as a designer and architect in middle east and Europe. Collaborating with artists in central and north america has given me a different insight into the mysteries of creation. I realise that design and architecture are necessarily embedded in an economic, social and cultural reality, and that this must consistently inform the creative process.

Some of my recent research publications include:

_ Ubiquitous Planting and Green Bricks: Towards symbiotic and evolving spaces

_ Barefoot College, India: Travelogue by Maja Kuzmanovic and Sanjeev Shankar

_ Where is my Chai? (Ethnographic study of Indian Street food and Street Vendors)

_ Soliloquy: Notes from the Rainforest

_ WcCafe: ongoing project with FoAM. Summary of Phase 1

_ Cultural influences in the creative process
